In a goat pasture, the goal is to slowly build friendships and perhaps tickle them on their backs and necks. Since goats really don’t like their ears being played with, it may be safe to say they really, really trust you when they let you fiddle with their ears. This building of connection is also meant to build trust and confidence in the course of action in establishing a farmstead.
- Just like with any relationship, having friendly goats takes time. But unlike smaller breeds (like poultry), the time you put into your relationship with a goat lasts a lot longer.
- The best thing to do is take them food. Then quietly sit down close to them and put the food down next to you. Wait patiently. Keep chatting to them. The sound of your voice helps them get to know you.

With ethnography as the primary means of study, to build this space, the intention is to network with local farmers and slowly learn the artisan process.
With fulling a life as the primary goal of this space, it is the perfect opportunity to consider the metaphors and truths within scriptures in relation to dairy, i.e. circulation and the cycle of life. Along with the affinities found in theological studies, ground-level fieldwork may also be useful for gathering knowledge and information. For instance, this pillar consists of the intention of anthropology, as a means to understand local boundaries and current standards, to learn and exchange with the community at large, and further to both be in the network and size up the market. Furthermore, an ethnographer may wish to consider better means of care for the land and animals.

The ontological emphasis is the relation to one’s own community space for working with the elements, as well as experiencing daily life trade and craft while relating with acoustic sensation, knowledge and imagination. The epistemological emphasis is the reciprocal motion of economy, while learning the sensation of exchange similarly to internal circulation.

Establishing a farmstead seems to have become a natural roadblock.
